– Eamon Swift joins the club in the role of rehabilitation performance coach.
– Adam Roberts joins the support staff to the men’s first-team as a physio.
– David McCallum and Brian Gilmour take a step up within the academy, they will now lead the men’s B team.

– Craig McPherson will work with the women’s first-team as a coach, assisting current boss Malky Thomson.
Aligned
Speaking to Rangers TV in a feature interview, Ross Wilson stated:
“I talk about ‘one club’ a lot, and it is about making sure we are absolutely joined up as a club, and whatever practices we are seeing take place at first-team level, can we cascade them into our B Team and into our under-18 team and make sure that we stay ahead, stay current, stay fresh and definitely stay aligned to our strategy and our plan.”
“I think that is what we have got now – we have a group of people that really understand what Rangers’ strategy and plan looks like, what we are working towards and it is a pleasure to be here and lead these people every day as everyone is absolutely bought into what we are trying to do.”
The Defoe appointment in particular is a very intriguing one and it will be interesting to see what, if any, immediate impact the poacher supreme can have.
If he can unlock an extra 5% in Rangers attack, that will be measureable – quite simply, Defoe has so much to offer and Rangers will benefit from the appointment.
Elsewhere throughout the club, the men’s B team are set to enter the Lowland league which will both educate and ‘toughen up’ the youngsters in their football journey.
With McCallum and Gilmour stepping up, an important element of continuity is maintained.
Eyes will also be on the Women’s senior team with significant improvement required to build on a disappointing finish last term, albeit in their first professional season.
