Rangers captain James Tavernier reached an impressive career milestone with the Scottish side this weekend as the defender played game number 300 for the Glasgow giants.

The 29-year-old right-back signed for Rangers in 2015 when the side were in the Scottish Championship. And since then, Tavernier has flourished into one of the best players in Scotland with the Gers.

The former Wigan Athletic star is one of Rangers most important players, with Steven Gerrard making Tavernier captain of the squad in 2018.

Since arriving in Scotland, Tavernier has scored a ridiculous 66 goals and assisted a further 94 in 300 games for Rangers. Indeed, this record is impressive for an attacker or midfielder, let alone a fullback.

Indeed, Tavernier has drawn interest from some clubs in England. Yet the defender has remained committed to Rangers since arriving in Scotland six years ago.

The right-back was key to guiding Gerrard’s side to the SPL title last season. And Tavernier playing 300 games for the club is a testament as to how important the defender has been since moving up north from England.
