Rangers new boy Fashion Sakala made his Ibrox debut in yesterday’s pre-season win over Real Madrid and the striker has promised fans “big things are coming.”


Sakala started against Los Blancos and put in an impressive afternoon’s work as he continues to adjust to his new surroundings and teammates.
The former KV Oostende star admits the noise created by around 15000 fans inside Ibrox surprised him but told how his teammates have warned him what to expect when there is 50000 inside the ground.
“I was very excited and I was very happy to play in the presence of the fans,” he told Rangers TV.

“Yesterday I was surprised by the noise and still my teammates were telling me that I have to wait until the stadium is full and that I haven’t seen how they bounce, so I’m waiting for that!”
Having fallen behind to Real Madrid in the early stages despite dominating much of the game, Sakala netted the equaliser for Steven Gerrard’s side before Cedric Itten hit the winner to send the home support happy.
Sakala confessed that it “means a lot” to score on his Ibrox debut, thanking his teammates for making thins “a little bit easier” as he settles in Scotland.
While he was happy to get a goal on his Ibrox debut, Sakala admits there are still lots of parts of his game that he needs to work on to improve but promised there are big things on the way from him.


“It means a lot and it’s something I was looking for,” he added. “I really wanted to score in the presence of the fans. I’m very happy and proud of the team and my teammates are making everything a little bit easier for me.
“There are a lot of things that I need to work on and big things are coming.”
