Rangers will be sweating over the outcome of an MRI on Croatian left-back Borna Barisic’s back after he was ruled out of the opening Euro 2020 tie with England.
Croatian boss Zlatko Dalic confirmed the Ibrox star has suffered a reoccurrence of the back injury that caused him problems earlier this season, leading to Josko Garviol taking his place in the side at Wembley.
While the Rangers defender missed the final few games of the season for Steven Gerrard’s side, he did return to action in Croatia’s friendly draw with Armenia.
“Borna arrived at the camp and missed two training sessions because of a back injury he had previously with his club,” the Croatia manager said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

“He started working out again but unfortunately he’s not in the same shape as he was during the whole season.
“He did an MRI scan today so we will see exactly what the situation with him is over the next few days.
“It is a problem for us, especially against Scotland when he would be at home.
“We will have to see his results then we will know more about his status going forward.”
The Gers ended the season with midfielder Joe Aribo at left-back after Barisic was injured and Calvin Bassey picked up a suspension.
With massive Champions League qualifiers coming up soon, the Gers won’t want to lose Barisic for any real length of time.
The results of Barisic’s scan could end up bringing the defender’s Euro 2020 to an end prematurely and spark fears over his fitness at Rangers.
