The transfer rumours have gone eerily quiet coming out of Ibrox and, as predicted by Vital Rangers, it would appear that there won’t be any new faces until there is movement in the opposite direction.
One player that has been watched by the Gers and is said to be a long-term target is Peterborough United’s Jonson Clarke-Harris, the prolific striker responsible for firing his side back into the English Championship.
Despite interest from other clubs, The Daily Record claims that Rangers are at the head of the queue in the race for his signature:
“Record Sport understands Bournemouth, Sheffield United, West Brom and CSKA Moscow are among the sides who are closely monitoring the 27-year-old.
“Rangers are long-time admirers of the former Bristol Rovers forward and the Ibrox side scouted him extensively last season as his 33 goals helped fire Posh to Championship promotion
“It comes after Steven Gerrard admitted he’s fed up with fervent speculation surrounding talisman Alfredo Morelos with Porto still keen to test their resolve.
“But despite a host of clubs registering their interest, it’s understood Clarke-Harris would relish the opportunity to take his next step at Ibrox.”
I have no reason to doubt that Clarke-Harris, given his age and career to date, would relish the chance to play for a side that is going to be competing for trophies and playing in the Champions League, however, on this occasion, I just can’t see it for several reasons.

For one, we’ve got enough depth in attack – even if Alfredo Morelos leaves – and secondly, Peterborough aren’t known for letting players leave for cheap, especially those that are still tied to long-term contracts.
