Rangers fans say goodbyes to Diego Laxalt as Celtic “hero” moves on

Rangers fans have waved goodbye to some of the biggest Celtic legends over the last twelve months and Diego Laxalt is the latest to officially move on from Parkhead.

The Uruguayan left-back, 28, will always be remembered for some particularly abominable performances against Rangers and well, putting loads of tackles in against Lille.

Another example of the crazy transfer strategy employed by Celtic last season, the full-back was signed on loan by the Parkhead club and routinely toiled in Scottish football.

A remarkable £12m (€14m) signing by AC Milan from Genoa in 2018 [Calcio Mercato] the left-back has now been moved onto Dynamo Moscow in a reported £3m (€3.5m) deal [Football Italia].

The reaction of the AC Milan fans on the above thread is telling but it’s the Rangers support who’ve been sending their well wishes after a legendary campaign in Glasgow.

Laxalt – who has 24 caps for the Uruguay national team – watched on helplessly as 10IAR collapsed and Rangers marched to a legendary unbeaten, relentless 55th league championship.

Making his debut in the 2-0 defeat to Rangers at Parkhead last October, Laxalt would come into the team before playing a big part in a run of two wins in twelve games.

It was *chef’s kiss* bliss for Rangers fans who watched their side go on a rampant run of form and all but tie the league up before even the second Old Firm game of the season.

That’s before we talk about those snaps of Laxalt braiding Shane Duffy’s hair by the pool in Dubai.

Following Neil Lennon, Scott Brown and Peter Lawwell out the Parkhead exit door, this is one Celtic “hero” some of the Rangers support can’t resist paying tribute to:
