Tam McManus has backed Rangers player Nathan Patterson to start for Scotland against England on Friday evening.
It’s a huge occasion at Wembley, with the Scots most likely needing to avoid defeat in order to qualify past the group stage.
Patterson has only made one senior appearance for his country, in an impressive substitute outing in the warm-up clash with Luxembourg.

Writing on his personal Twitter account ahead of the clash, McManus believes Steve Clarke should trust youth.
“What would be your starting line-up v England?” he wrote.
“Assuming everyone is available I really hope Stevie Clarke picks this 11. Could stick Fraser behind Adams instead of Armstrong but like the Southampton link, they will know each other’s games well.
“I’d love to see this team.”
