“Move him on” - Gers in £20m Morelos offer advice

The biggest question marks hanging over Rangers squad this summer surround three key players and whether or not they will be lining up in Light Blue next season.

Connor Goldson has been tipped to sign an extension, Glen Kamara’s stock has never been higher after impressing at the European Championships and Alfredo Morelos is being heavily linked with a move to Porto with rumours circulating that he has even agreed a five-year deal in principle with the Portuguese giants.

Speaking to Football Insider, former Ger, Allan Hutton, feels that for all that £20million might be out of a question, Rangers certainly shouldn’t be dropping their asking price anywhere near as low as has been reported income circles:

“I can’t see Porto spending £20million-plus for a player from Rangers.

“Morelos, we’ve spoken about him so much. He gives you so much on the pitch, the goals and things.

“Definitely, his mentality changed when he was linked to moves away to France or wherever for £20million.

“His attitude seemed to change a little bit. It took him a little bit of time to get back into his stride. You just wonder if it’s now time.

“Yes, they’re not going to get £20million that they were after. Maybe if they can get an offer close to that mark, move him on.

“He’s done a fantastic job for Rangers over the years.”

Hutton is right, we might not get the full valuation for the Colombian international but there is no reason why we should be giving him away, he is still a player that has scored nearly 100 goals in just under four seasons at the club, and that doesn’t include his assists either.

How many players do Rangers have at the Euros this summer?

We are well stocked in the forward department now but anything over what Lille offered last season and close to the £20m mark and we may have seen the last of El Bufalo in Light Blue.
