Barry Douglas has suggested to The Yorkshire Evening Post that he is open to moving to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers following his departure from Leeds United.
Douglas is leaving Leeds this summer after his contract comes to an end.
The 31-year-old has suggested that he is open to going back to his hometown of Glasgow and playing for Rangers, but he has also said that he is willing to go elsewhere.

While telling The Yorkshire Evening Post that he is unaware of any links with Rangers, Douglas said that he would consider a move to the Gers.
The left-back said: “It depends what opportunities present themselves. As a family it would be a lot more difficult [to go abroad] now, we’ve got a newborn and a toddler,
“Kayden is three next month, obviously we need to take that into consideration now. But we’d definitely be open to trying something new and getting out of the comfort zone.
“If it’s a new culture and a new language again absolutely. But if it’s domestic, great.”
There are no credible reports claiming that Rangers are interested in the former Wolverhampton Wanderers star.
However, there have been opinion pieces written on some websites explaining why Douglas would be a good signing for Rangers.
Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor has also tipped the left-back to move to Rangers, the club the departing Leeds player supported as a boy.
The Scotland international did well during his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers this season.
The 31-year-old – described by West Bromwich Albion winger Robert Snodgrass as “incredible” on BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily Podcast this month – is an experienced left-back who would give Rangers manager Gerrard another option.
The Gers could play in the Champions League next season and will also face a more intense challenge from Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title.
A player like Douglas who helped first Wolves and then Leeds win promotion to the Premier League would be a valuable option to have for Rangers.
