Rangers return to the Champions League this season with Steven Gerrard’s side entering at the Third Qualifying Round as they look to reach the Group Stage.
The Light Blues will discover who they will face on July 19 when the draw is made in Nyon with Rangers hoping to build on reaching the last 16 of the Europa League for the last two seasons.
After impressing in the Europa League, Rangers have built up a solid European pedigree under Gerrard but the Champions League will be an entirely different proposition.
As well as the prestige that comes with playing in Europe’s premier club competition, the financial benefits are massive for clubs in smaller leagues.
With this season’s Scottish Premiership winners being guaranteed a place in the 2022/23 Group Stage, the financial rewards for Rangers in the coming years show just how vital maintaining their recent success will be.

Here’s what Rangers could earn by reaching the Champions League Group Stage:
If Steven Gerrard’s side reach the Groups, they will be rewarded with a £13.4million windfall just for qualifying
Each win in the group stages earns a cool £2.4million while a draw is worth £800,000.
Should Rangers manage to qualify from their group, there would be another £8.3million winging its way to Ibrox.

Qualification for the quarter-finals (£9.1m) and semi-finals (£10.7m) sees the cash really start rolling in – with the runners up pocketing a further £13.2million and the winners walking away with £17.1million.
By contrast, Rangers’ progress to the last 16 of the Europa League last season earned the Light Blues less than £9million in prize money.
On top of the prize money, there is also the share of TV revenue as well as UEFAs’s coefficient payment.
The coefficient payment sees teams paid a share of a £515million pot, with the lowest-ranked side in the competition getting just under £1million.
