Gers quoted €3m fee for target, Wilson should move fast

If Rangers are to follow up their reported interest in Colombian winger Santiago Moreno, at least they know the fee that will be needed.

A report in The Daily Record claims that the Light Blues are facing stiff competition for the 21-year old with Premier League sides also reported to be interested in signing the forward from America de Cali.

In fact, the Colombian outfit has already received offers according to Tulio Gomez – a major shareholder – and that a bid of “well over €3 million” would be needed to enter negotiations, a figure well within Rangers budget.

As told to América En La Red:

“They (offers) have arrived for Santiago Moreno but he is a jewel.

“He is 21-years-old and he is growing much more. In two or three years it will be a regular in the Colombian national team”.

The South American market is going to be a difficult one to tap into post-Brexit but Moreno will have earned points from competing in the Copa Libertadores, a competition on par with the Champions League in terms of prestige.

He is comfortable with either foot, loves a 1 v 1 and has pace to burn, he also has six goals and four assists in 24 appearances this season operating, usually, on the right-hand side of a front three although he is capable of playing anywhere in the forward line.

It may be that Moreno was one of a few potential targets seeing as his skill set is very similar to that of Fashion Sakala who is already signed up, however, at 21 and for such a relatively small fee, Ross Wilson might just be tempted to pick up another bargain whilst he can.
