Rangers‘ plan to charge media for access this season has been generally backed by supporters of the Gers who feel some take liberties in attacking the club – but that changed drastically earlier today when it emerged long-serving photographer Willie Vass would be denied access to Ibrox for the friendly with Arsenal.

The Gers are looking for as much as £25,000 for access to press conferences and matches, as well as ‘exclusives’ from the club, with most media outlets rightky baulking at the notion.
Rangers fans were more supportive though given the uneasy relationship between the club and certain sections of the media, with some feeling it would rein in some of the club’s fiercest critics.

Vass has covered Rangers for decades, capturing some of the club’s most iconic moments – and some of the worst – and fans were outraged at the decision to refuse the snapper access to Ibrox.
With the Light Blues back in action at Ibrox next weekend when they face Brighton then Real Madrid, fans were demanding Vass be reinstated as the club’s ludicrous policy of charging for media access hits its first major, public, hurdle.
While we have picked a handful of the supportive comments from fans on Twitter, there are hundreds more as Rangers fans almost unanimously get behind Vass and demand the club back down.
