Leeds United are a possible destination for Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour on loan, this summer. Reports from north of the border suggest Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is keen. But Leeds are preferred by Chelsea, and Chelsea fans want Gilmour to go on loan to Leeds.
Gilmour, 20, is likely to struggle for game time under Thomas Tuchel next season. While he is rated incredibly high by Tuchel and Chelsea, he is some way behind Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante and Mason Mount. A loan move is needed for Gilmour, in order to get some experience.
The Record has claimed that Gerrard is keen to take Gilmour back to Ibrox. Chelsea signed Gilmour for £500,000 in 2017, with the Scotland man yet to make his senior debut for the Light Blues. But Chelsea want a loan at a Premier League club – with Leeds, Wolves and Norwich touted.

What have Chelsea fans said about Leeds reportedly wanting Gilmour?
“But there is no doubt how highly Chelsea rate Billy. If they do agree to loan him out for experience they might prefer him to be playing in the Premier League with the likes of Norwich, Wolves or Leeds,” A source told The Record. “They also know Steven Gerrard is a big admirer.”

Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to have their say. The majority are more than open to seeing him go on loan but like Chelsea, would rather he stayed in the Premier League. If they had their choice, they want £43,000-a-week Gilmour (Spotrac) to move to Leeds and work under Marcelo Bielsa.
